English Contract Law for the U.S. Practitioner

Many US companies encounter English law when they venture
outside the United States. This presentation will give the
US practitioner a basic understanding of the application of
English law in some common contractual settings, including
ways in which it might differ from US state law. The presentation
will also address issues arising as a result of selecting
England and Wales as the seat of an international arbitration.

Because of the construction boom in the Middle East, this
presentation
will focus on the members of the Gulf Cooperation Counsel,
including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Yemen and Oman.

on a comparative basis among GCC states, tax considerations,
negotiating strategies for Western companies operating in
the Middle East, comparative analysis of local tendering procedures,
and current opportunities in the region.

Oil and Gas Developments in Mexico

This talk will describe the basic legal structure of oil
and gas
activities in Mexico, the current decline in reserves, the
increasing
demand for natural gas, and deep water exploration and production
projects. There will also be a discussion concerning the need
for
private investment and efforts to amend the existing legal
framework.
